Music at Beaulieu Prep
“Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them—a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.”
Gerald Ford, former President, United States of America

As the importance of music and the arts continues to be debated in the boardrooms of surrounding schools, it is with great pride that Beaulieu Preparatory remains a great cultural caretaker. Music offers many benefits that make it indispensable and, at a time where our students are feeling more and more pressure from academic and social demands around them, it is comforting to know that they are provided with a form of emotional release.
Group musical activities offered at Beaulieu Prep include Orff Band, Junior and Senior Choir, Marimba Band, String Ensemble and Drumline. Both the Beaulieu Singers (Snr choir) and String Ensemble go on annual camps to have fun and learn new notes and repertoire and our various other groups have regular workshops.
A highly qualified team of peripatetic teachers offers tuition in piano, violin, cello, drum-kit, guitar, saxophone, flute, clarinet to name just a few. The more than 120 musicians at our school regularly take part in surrounding festivals and eisteddfods. We are proud of our music dept!
